Meredith Daniels is a founding partner of Shawmut Law, LLC, where she dedicates her practice to representing individuals and families navigating the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (Vaccine Program). With more than 16 years of experience in this highly specialized area of law, Meredith is a passionate advocate for her clients and an active leader in the national legal community dedicated to vaccine injury compensation.
Meredith began her legal career at Conway Homer, P.C. in 2009, joining the firm as a law clerk during her final year of law school. She continued with the firm as an attorney following her graduation in 2010, ultimately becoming a partner. Throughout her career, she has represented petitioners in complex vaccine injury claims before the Office of Special Masters of the United States Court of Federal Claims, the Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
For Meredith, the most rewarding aspect of her practice is the opportunity to advocate for individuals and families whose lives have been profoundly affected by unexpected injuries. She understands that navigating the Vaccine Program can be an unfamiliar and often overwhelming experience, particularly for clients who are simultaneously managing significant medical, financial, and personal challenges. Meredith approaches each case with a combination of thoughtful legal strategy, meticulous preparation, and genuine compassion. She takes pride in building meaningful relationships with her clients, ensuring that their experiences are heard, their concerns are understood, and their interests are vigorously represented.
Beyond her individual casework, Meredith is deeply committed to improving the Vaccine Program and advancing the interests of petitioners more broadly. She currently serves as Vice President of the Vaccine Injured Petitioners Bar Association (VIP Bar), a national organization of attorneys representing individuals seeking compensation for vaccine-related injuries. She also serves on the VIP Bar’s Appellate Advisory Council, which provides guidance to petitioners’ counsel on appellate strategy and assists attorneys in preparing for appellate oral arguments.
Meredith is also an officer of the United States Court of Federal Claims Bar Association, serving as Secretary on its Board of Governors. In addition, she chairs the Association’s Newsletter Committee, overseeing the publication of its quarterly newsletter.
Recognized for her experience and engagement in Vaccine Program practice, Meredith serves as the petitioners’ representative on the Vaccine Program’s Process Committee, a collaborative working group bringing together representatives of the Office of Special Masters, the Department of Justice, and petitioners’ counsel. In this role, she advocates for procedural improvements, greater efficiency, and a fair and accessible compensation process for those seeking relief under the Program.
Through these leadership positions, Meredith works to strengthen the community of attorneys practicing in this specialized field, promote collaboration, and address systemic issues affecting vaccine-injured individuals and their families. She is particularly committed to ensuring that the perspectives and experiences of petitioners remain central to discussions about the Program’s administration and future.
Originally from the Chicago area, Meredith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brown University in 2007, where she was a member of the women’s water polo team. She received her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 2010. While at Suffolk, she was a member of the Journal of Health and Biomedical Law, which published her article examining the application of legal precedent and congressional intent within the Vaccine Program.
Meredith is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Meredith lives in Boston with her husband and their dog. Outside of Shawmut Law, she enjoys traveling, exploring new places and cultures, and maintaining an active lifestyle, particularly through strength training. She also enjoys spending time exploring Boston’s neighborhoods on long walks with her dog.
