Patrick Kelly is a founding partner of Shawmut Law, LLC, who has devoted more than a decade to advocating for individuals and families navigating the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (Vaccine Program). His experience in this area of law began in 2012, when he joined Conway Homer as a paralegal, before becoming a law clerk with the firm. After 6 years of working closely with attorneys and clients and developing an understanding of vaccine injury claims, Patrick became an attorney in 2018. Since then, he has represented petitioners before the Office of Special Masters of the United States Court of Federal Claims, and has guided clients through the complexities of the Vaccine Program with a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach.

Patrick’s experience extends beyond his work representing clients. He has presented on issues relating to the Vaccine Program at annual conferences, sharing his knowledge and experience with other practitioners in the field. His perspective is shaped not only by his years as an attorney, but also by the years he spent working within the practice before becoming an attorney, a foundation that gives him a particularly comprehensive understanding of the legal process and the challenges faced by his clients.

Before entering private practice, Patrick worked as a criminal defense investigator for the Committee for Public Counsel Services, Boston Superior Court Trial Unit. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire in 2010 and later attended New England Law Boston, earning his J.D. in 2018.

Patrick is a member of the Vaccine Injured Petitioners Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

Outside of his practice, Patrick enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his children’s sports teams. He also enjoys running, music, and annual family vacations to the Jersey Shore.
